SETU researchers can publish open access (OA) with Springer Nature through the IRel consortium agreement. The Article Processing Charges (APCs) are covered through the IRel agreement and enable researchers to publish OA free.
The allocation of APCs for 2025 is listed here or below, on screen. It is essential to verify the remaining APC quota with the library.
The agreement also gives current staff and students at SETU access to current content from all Springer, Palgrave, Adis subscription journals, as well as academic journals on nature.com. These can be accessed through the A-Z List of Databases on the library website
To be eligible to avail of this agreement the corresponding author must be a current SETU staff member or student at the time the article is accepted for publication. Requests for OA are subject to approval by participating institutions.
