Coping with a mental health issue of any description is a challenge. Thankfully, there is a wealth of resources to provide support and perspective. Below are a sample of podcasts themed around mental health, most of them Irish.

You Ok? 

An RTÉ Podcast sharing advice and support from Irish mental health practitioners on managing our mental health. It focuses on areas highlighted through the pandemic. Topics covered include working from home, anxiety, isolation, parenting, stress, and sleep.


Owning It: The Anxiety Podcast

Presented by author Caroline Foran, episodes cover Caroline’s personal experience with anxiety and her methods to cope with it. Includes interviews with well-known names who share their journeys with anxiety.


Mental Health Ireland Podcast Series

Podcast series from Mental Health Ireland which covers areas like loneliness, depression, sleep, and anxiety.


St. Patrick's Mental Health Services collection

A collection of podcasts featuring practitioners from St Patricks Mental Health services, covering a wide variety of topics from the challenges of the pandemic to the pressures of parenthood.


The Blindboy Podcast

Blindboy Boatclub of the Rubber Bandits hosts this hugely popular podcast, which regularly focuses on mental health both from his own experience and through guest interviews. The show also examines psychotherapeutic theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Self Care, discussing how to apply these techniques.


How to Fail with Elizabeth Day

This podcast features interviews with writers, actors, business leaders and others about their failures, personally and professionally. The shared stories offer insight and advise on coping with difficulty loss and change.

Headspace – Meditation and mindfulness app with guided sessions to work through.

Calm – Access guided meditation breathing exercises and relaxing music to help reduce stress, anxiety and improve sleep.

Spotify – The popular music service features ASMR sound effects, mindfulness guided meditations, sleep sounds, and playlists to help you unwind.

Headspace Netflix Series – Headspace have developed three Netflix series based on their app; Unwind Your Mind, Guide to Sleep, and the interactive Guide to Mediation. They are available through the service on desktop and mobile.
